SLU
Bachelor Business Administration2009 -2014
My studies at SLU began in August 2009, following my return from overseas military service. I stood at a crossroads, deciding whether to study at Uppsala University or Swedish Agricultural University (SLU). In the end, I chose SLU because their bachelor’s program included a significant focus on environmental economics and sustainable development, which I believe is crucial in the future economic landscape.
My studies at SLU provided me with a deepened understanding and interest in corporate economics, especially organizational theory, group dynamics, and sustainable development.
The program offered me an invaluable insight into the world of economics and how it affects almost everything we do. It provided me with a platform for personal development. I use my knowledge of economics daily and greatly appreciated my time as a student here.
I took two gap years from my studies: the first to travel to Kenya and establish our import business, and the second during the fall of 2012 and spring of 2013 to launch the Wananchi Nordic company. During this period, I also worked part-time at Ericsson, and the Kenya business expanded significantly, requiring my active involvement.
My bachelor’s thesis was titled “Organizational Barriers to Environmental Investments in Family Businesses,” where we conducted a case study on how institutionalism influences an organization’s behavior regarding environmental investments.
